Fortress Kitchen Remodel Update
Tariffs on imported kitchen cabinets are set to double on January 1
Since October 2025, imported kitchen cabinets and bathroom vanities have carried a 25% federal tariff. An increase to 50% was pushed back a year and is now scheduled for January 1, 2027. As of mid-October, that date still stands unless new trade agreements change it.
Cabinets are often the largest single line item in a kitchen remodel, so depending on where yours are made, this could affect your budget. During design, we’ll walk you through cabinet options and how timing affects the price, so there are no surprises later.
