Troy Lybbert grew up in Bountiful, Utah, and attended Viewmont High School. During high school and part of college, he worked in construction with his uncle, gaining early hands-on experience in the trades.
After graduating from college, Troy entered the corporate world. Within three years, he realized that the path was not the right fit. In 1998, he earned his general contractor license and began building decks.
